Veils of any length can be the crowning glory to your wedding attire. They are the finishing detail that can take your look to another level. But some brides just aren’t into it. And that’s okay. Your wedding day look should represent who you are. So if you aren’t the veil type, don’t do it.
Long dramatic cathedral veils are a major wedding trend and we say YES! But maybe your dress or vision thinks it is too much. Below is a veil length guide to help you choose your veil for your big day.
Veil Length Guide
• Fingertip length veils – These mid-length veils extend to around the bride’s fingertips and offer a slightly more modern take on the long veil trend. They work well with A-line and fit and flare dresses.
• Floor length veils – Measuring from the waist to the floor, floor length veils create a graceful train without obscuring the bride’s dress or train. Simple and understated, they pair well with mermaid and sheath silhouettes.
• Cathedral length veils – The most traditional long veil, cathedral veils measure around 9 long and sweep the floor as the bride walks. They create a timeless, elegant silhouette and work with most wedding dress styles. But cathedral veils can be as long as you want them to be. Some designers will make it custom to your length. But remember, custom adds time and money.
• Royal length veils – Longer than cathedral, royal veils are 10 feet long and work well when you want your veil to extend
• Regal length veils – The longest option of length veils can measure 12 feet long and trail behind the bride for a few steps. They create a truly dramatic effect and can require an escort to hold up the veil as the bride walks.
• Custom length veils – Some designers will create a custom length veil for you in whatever lenght. The longest veil on record is 22,860 feet but that’s just crazy..
