Chicago Merchandise Mart

Twice a year, for Spring and Fall, the Bridal Industry presents their new lines around the world. Usually, we go to New York but this season, we went to the beautiful city of Chicago. The National Bridal Market Chicago hosts many designers from all over the world at the beautiful Merchandise Mart at River North Point. The merchandise mart is located in the downtown loop of Chicago at the junction of the river. When it opened in 1930, it was the largest building in the world with 4,000,000 square feet of floor space. This art deco landmark was built by Marshall Field & Co and later owned by the Kennedy family for over a half a century.

Always Learning

At market, there are seminars to stay up to date on fashion and trends, business applications, advertising and marketing, website design and social media. It also offers great networking opportunities with designers, customer service representatives, and owners of stores and design companies. We use all these opportunities to better ourselves to be able to provide the best product and service to our wedding couples and family.

Beautiful Dresses

Of course there are dresses. And more dresses. And more dresses. Sparkle sparkle everywhere. Its hard to stay focused. However, before market, we have done lots of homework and have crafted an itinerary of appointments with designers and expectations. It is still hard not to go off track with the many shiny things.  

We first meet with our existing designers and discuss their new lines, their inspirations for the gowns, and new trends.  Then we seek out new and exciting designers. Together we discuss the construction, style and value of each gown to make sure that we only have premium quality to offer our brides.  We see the gowns on the runway to see how it “walks”.  Each choice offers us something new. Each dress is something exciting. Each piece has to speak to us and say “You need me!” Through careful deliberations, we start assembling our new Fall of 2018 line. We hope you love it as much as we do.
