I hate my arms!

We at Precious Memories must hear that with almost every bride, mother of the bride and groom, and bridesmaids. And truthfully I am always a little shocked. I’m not seeing what you are seeing. Unfortunately, we are our own worst critic. And we all seem to focus on what we consider our flaws. And in our own eyes, our flaws seem pretty obvious. But after hearing “I hate my arms!” for the umpteen hundredth time, I thought I would google it. So many women hate their arms, it is a pretty hot subject. My favorite headline was “The real arms race: millions of women hate their upper arms”.

Of course there is always things that we can do with the dresses to hide your arms. There are shawls, jackets, and long sleeved wedding gowns and mothers gowns. You can talk to a trainer or work out at home. I found this online from health.com “11 Best Exercises to get stong, toned arms.  Some other haters suggested tanning made them feel better about themselves.

I wish that you could see what I see, what your loved ones see, and everyone else sees. Two arms attached to a beautiful person in a beautiful gown. We don’t notice your arms because we are too busy looking at our own. Which reminds me of the quote by Wally Lamb “I cried because I had no shoes. Then I met a man who had no feet.”  Ladies, let’s love ourselves on this day that is all about love. Stand strong and proud and own it!
